Susan Sarandon Bio

It was the year after the 1968 Democratic convention and there was a casting request for a film featuring a range of roles for the kind of young people who had disrupted convention. Joe (1970) was selected for auditions in New York by two recent Catholic University graduates. Chris Sarandon was not selected for the role, despite having previously studied acting. His wife Susan was offered a prominent role as Susan Compton as the child of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). Dad Bill kills Susan’s drug dealer boyfriend. Next, Joe (Peter Boyle) an obnoxious gangster who works on an assembly line and is a collector of guns, befriends Susan. Five years later Sarandon is the director of the movie. Janet is a transvestite who falls in love with the mysterious Dr. Frank n Furter (1975). After more than fifteen years, Sarandon began to campaign for Annie in Bull Durham (1988), transporting herself between Rome to Los Angeles at her expense. "It was an amazing script ... and removed many myths and challenged the American definition of success" said Sarandon. "I attended the film studio along with Kevin Costner and shook hands with his sexy assistants, before returning to the plane. Tim Robbins, her Bull Durham (1988) as a supporting actor, was her first lover. He had two sons in 1992. This placed Sarandon in a awkward spot. She would leave her home to perform characters that were extremely difficult. There were four Academy Award nominations were received in the 1990s. The best actress award was presented for Dead Man Walking (1995) was also awarded. Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980), was her first Academy Award nomination.
